Terminator Salvation Gets Desperate – Shows CG Arnold in TV Spot

I guess since Terminator Salvation has been a big disappointment critically and it the box office, the people behind the film are getting desperate and showing off the “big” suprise of T4, CG Arnold. Salvation has only made $95 million domestically, and with international box office, it still only totals $121 million.

I loved that part!!! everyone in the theater either chilled or booed. It was mixed reactions. I cheered!

Everyone cheered when he came on screen when I saw it. I thought it was pretty cool, but I find it funny that they have to resort to promoting that scene now, as it was originally suppsosed to be a "suprise"

It kinda sucks that he looks SUUUUPER CG when he gets hit in the face… other than that, I did enjoy that part of the film…

Fuelbot mentioned that he looked like CG Hulk from the last movie, and I agree. How did you feel about the rest of the movie? I was disappointed.

I was one of the few who actually liked the cameo and thought it looked good as well. It did seem forced in there and the movie could have done alright without it. As for WB using it in the latest TV spots, of course they're going to use it. If anything, it's going to create more buzz around this movie and possibly get a few more million dollars out of the general public.

I just like the line before they show him in he spot "There's something else you have to see" Sooo deliciously gimmicy :)

I liked the cameo as well, unfortunately it was one of very few things that I liked from the movie. Perhaps they felt that by not having Arnold in the movie doomed it to box office failure, but really it was the movie didn't come together very well.

Even an R rated Watchmen made $187 worldwide, compared to this PG-13 Terminator current $122 million worldwide.

Like I always say, sometimes when all you are looking for is the $$$, you end up shooting yourself in the foot and create something that you think is going to appeal to more people but end up with a mess.

I honestly think they tried to make a good movie because whoever was in charger of T3 kinda ruined things. I think they realized they had something that could have potential for a trilogy but they are rethinking their strategy now. We all know why they decided to add in the surprise because they want a little bit more money for their efforts. The movie wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as it could have been. I hope that if they decide to do another one in a few years that it all turns out to be alot better than the way they left it.

Me, Roth, and Jonny went to the Apple Store Terminator event and listened to McG talk, and ask him a few questions and he genuinely cared for the franchise and the storyline. I think he might have got caught with all the politics of trying to creating a box office hit/popcorn movie with all the action, effects, PG-13 rating, etc. that he lossed control of the final product.
