Gearing Up For True Blood Season Two Interviews With Creator Alan Ball and Vampire Bill

I don’t know about you – but I for one am gearing up for the next season of HBO’s True Blood. If you aren’t already watching the show, I seriously recommend that you catch up on season one before the second season premiers on June 14th. It’s the perfect combination of southern folklore, Buffy style vamp camp, and let’s face it, a touch of soft core.

Here is an interview from E online with Stephen Moyer, the illustrious Vampire Bill himself, on his real life relationship with actress Anna Paquin
Anna and I met on this show. We met doing the job. I love working with her, and that’s how it all started, by falling in love on camera…
The sexual intensity of the show
The show is ridiculously f–king sexy…I think Alan Ball and the writers do very well in pushing the envelope. I think one of the things that drives me nuts about society is that you can watch hours about terrorists but you can’t look at a human nipple. What the f–k is that about? Sex is part of our lives. It’s part of our existence. So I kind of embrace the fact that we hit it full on the head.
And what we can expect from season two
I think the second season is beyond amazing…more than anybody imagined. Honestly, I came out of the screening the other day with my jaw on the floor. And I’ve read it, you know.

In a recent interview with scifiwire creator Alan Ball promises that in season two:
“Everything gets deeper. Everything gets more intense. It’s a lot scarier. It’s sexier. It’s just really, really fun”

I have to agree, this show is just fun. I personally love the liberties Ball has taken with the original book series. What do you guys think? Have you read the books? Are you a fan of the series? What are you looking most forward to in the upcoming season?

Oh! Gotta say that I LOVE the show, and WAY prefer it to the books… multiple POV is so much better than 1st person unreliable narrator Sookie in the books!

I like em both. The books aren't exactly Steppenwolf ;D but they are fun quick beach reads – perfect for summer. I do LOVE the show and I really love the direction Alan ball has taken with it. As a work of fiction I'd say the show is overall superior – yeah. One thing I miss (so far) is the tension between Sookie and Eric, and Eric and Pam’s sense of humor – I hope this will start to play a bigger role in the series. Overall though – it's just so hot and so much fun! I honestly am exited for season two.

So very stoked they are bringing this back for another Season! Can't wait till the first episode, haven't read the books mostly because I can never find the first one, but am trying to do so. Just love that blend of soft core, vamps, and southern folklore.

I just finished watching Season 1 and am seriously considering ordering HBO so I can keep up w/ Season 2 – like I ordered Showtime just so I could watch Dexter. Love the show it's so sexy and fun, can't wait!

I'll be the first one to say it, Dexter is way better than True Blood. I know there both great but if they were both on at the same time and I had to choose which one to watch first, of course I'm going with Dexter. True Blood is worth the price of HBO by the way. Plus I know it sounds like I'm hating on True Blood but the truth is, it's a pretty great show and I can't wait for season 2 to start.

Well I've seen a few previews for season 2 that point to Maryann being a big part of the season. I haven't read the books so I have no idea what her intentions are with Tara but I'm pretty sure they aren't in the best interests for everyone else.

I know some people are upset at what Lafayette's fate looks like for Season 2. I'm glad that we will be seeing more of Eric and how he will fight with Bill.

Oh yes I love the tension between those two. I too am upset about the fate of Lafayette but I hear that's the way the book goes and plus Alan Ball confirmed it the other day when I was watching A Taste for True Blood: Season 1. I figured he was one of the main cast that nothing happens to until the final season or something like that.
