In an interview with Total Film, Bryan Singer talked about his current involvement with the Superman franchise  and his desire to return to the X-Men movies.

On his current status with Superman, Singer was unsure himself:

“I don’t know, I don’t know. There are still issues…I just…I just don’t know. I don’t necessarily…I don’t know. It’s one of those things where…It’s so weird talking about stuff unless I’m about to ramp up and shoot it.”

On returning to the X-Men movies:

“I’m eternally intertwined with X-Men now… What takes an audience four hours to watch – the first two movies – took six years of my life. So, to not be part of it….It’s a shame.”

“It’s weird for me to watch it [the third movie], because I’m so close to the universe. And also Brett [Ratner] is a good friend of mine. But, of course, I would love to return to that universe.”

I personally would be glad to see Singer return to the X-Men Universe, as I thought X-Men 3 and Wolverine were both underwhelming compared to how great both X-Men 1 and 2 were.  Also I was not a big fan of Superman Returns, and felt there was something quite off in that movie.

What do you think of Bryan Singer returning to the X-Men franchise?  Or did you like Superman Returns, and want him to do another one?
