“Terminator: SCC” Eulogy – Officially Cancelled by FOX

One of my favorite shows on television, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been officially cancelled by FOX. Here is an excerpt of what was said:
“[Sarah Connor] has completed its run,” Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly confirmed at a press conference this morning. “I think it had a nice little run. It was a good show. It was not an either or [with Dollhouse]. We did see it tailing off a bit [in the ratings]. It had a nice creative core, but, ultimately, we made the bet on Dollhouse, so that’s it for [Sarah Connor]… We make no apologies. We gave it a lot of support and some consistent scheduling. We tried and thought it was time to move on.”
I love how he says it was not an either or situation, but then says “…ultimately, we made the bet on Dollhouse, so that’s it for [Sarah Connor]“
Sounds to me exactly like an either or situation. They could only pick one of these two shows, and they went with Dollhouse. Also pretty sure the only reason why they went with Dollhouse, was because it was cheaper. I love Joss Whedon and his work, but currently Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is a superior show.
How is it a better show?
The acting is much better, the storyline is much more interesting, and the characters are more fully developed and intriguing.
I’ve read comments on various movie blog sites, where people are bashing Terminator: SCC, and most of it is completely off base. Most of these people have only watched a couple episodes, probably from the first season, and haven’t seen how the show has developed.
There’s plenty of stuff to “bash” the show from an outside perspective, but only tells me that they haven’t actually watched the show more than a few times. People talk about Brian Austin Green, since he’s the guy from 90210. Hate to tell you this, but he actually kicks ass on this show, and does a great job. Then people talk about the Thomas Dekker as John Connor, and what a whiny brat he is (Eddie Furlong was much more annoying, and T2 is one of the sci-fi movies of all time), if you watch the show you see how the character develops, into a much stronger and independent person.
One of the things that a lot of people say is, there isn’t enough action, which is true. But instead of a bunch of nonsense action (LOST is one of my favorite shows but Jack and Sawyer fighting in the jungle while Sayid bleeds to death with a nuke in a van was ridiculous), SCC builds tension through the dialogue and interaction between the various characters who are fully developed.
So it really makes me sad that one of the best shows on TV is now cancelled, and the FOX president talks about “making no apologies” and how they really supported the show. How? By moving it to Friday nights? By piss poor marketing? (What was up with the Grindhouse-style commercials?)
Instead I will leave you with two fan made trailers that were better than anything FOX put out.

Sad news. I saw some of season1 and was hoping to catch up on a nice video base some day. Oh well, it joins the ranks of many other shows that should never have been canceled so early. SCC, R.I.P. :@

Season 2 takes Terminator SCC to a whole new level. Check it out when it comes out on DVD.
Terminator SCC Season 2 was better than Battlestar Galactica Season 4.5

How are you announcing the termination of a tv show the beginning of the week that the movie is released, yes I know that they are not produced by the same people but apparently there is the correct fan base for Terminator.
Unreal.

I think it's FOX's big FU to the fans and to WB who is releasing Terminator Salvation.

This was an amazing tv show, so to say I'm sad to see it go would be an understatement
