According to SlashFilm, Chris Hemsworth, who played James T. Kirk’s father in the begining of the new Star Trek movie has been cast as Marvel comic book icon, Thor in the upcoming Kenneth Branagh movie.

The choice comes as a suprise as many other more known actors were rumored for the part, like Alexandar Skarsgard (True Blood), and Kevin McKidd (Rome, Grey’s Anatomy).

What do you think of this choice?

I’ve only seen Chris Hemsworth in Star Trek, so I’m not too sure. Physically I think he could pull it off, just don’t know his acting ability.

Hm. I liked Alexander Skarsgård more. He seemed better built to suit Thor, and he's an amazing actor as well.

I like Alexander Skarsgard, but I've only seen him in True Blood, he definitely had the hair for Thor.

He's much better in Generation Kill.

Haven't seen that show. Is that a military TV show on HBO?

He looked good in Trek, I'm willing to give him a chance. How well does "Thor" have to act anyway. XD
