Comments on: Possible Ridley Scott “Alien” Prequel/Reboot?

I thought so at first then they announced who the initial director was (Carl Rinsch) and his commercial work showed a lot of creativity for something that was totally alien. I think the only way they can make the prequel work with addition of the human element to what seemed like a total alien environment is to make heavy use of the main antagonist in the series: Weyland-Yutani Corp.

Perhaps they will invent another story about Aliens taking over a human ship but they never knew about it. I can't see them making a movie without a human component involved.

I think we're all missing the one glaring obvious detail about what this prequel will have and won't have. It will be all about aliens and no humans. If the film does take place prior to the events of the first film and explain the origins of the alien ship and the fossilized Navigator then Ridley Scott may be going for an all-alien cast.

My favorite of the series is Aliens as well…though I do love Alien. A prequel I'm guessing would take place on the planet that the mining ship went to, showing how the Alien got there and what took place. Interesting possibilities – but somewhat limited tension as we all know how it turned out for them.

Yes, if you mean where technology and power have become more important than the final product, then I think he has the George Lucas effect as well. Also worried that James Cameron has it too.

I would be psyched to see what led up to the crash landing of the alien ship on that planet, or maybe something else. It would be on my list, yes.

I would love to see a prequel to the movie, I think it's the only way to go now that the series has been tainted. Getting Scott in would be incredible, but I am wary of the George Lucas effect, as well as the lowering standard of his output recently.
