Thanks to FirstShowing, here is the TV Spot entitled “This Is Not Your Father’s Star Trek”. I guess they really are trying to reboot and rebrand Star Trek as something more “hip” and “modern”. Star Trek has never gotten the same kind of mainstream acceptance that Stars Wars has had, and I’m guessing that they are really going to push hard with this movie to change people’s minds who normally don’t think of Star Trek as a blockbuster movie event. With JJ Abrams directing, they have a good chance of attaching the mainstream appeal of LOST to this movie.
