Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski has decided to pass on the fourth ‘Pirates’ movie, and instead move onto his next movie, BioShock, which is based on the critically acclaimed first person shooter video game.  The story revolves on a guy who finds his way to an underwater former utopia, that has gone wrong.

Verbinksi was never really excited to do another ‘Pirates’ movie and already had many projects lined up, so he informed producer Jerry Bruckheimer that would not be working on the next installment which is due to start shooting in 2010.

Though I haven’t played BioShock yet, I have heard alot of good things about it.  I do know that the visual style is very beautiful and if done correctly with a good storyline can potentially be  a good movie.  Since most video game movies turn out shitty (Mario Bros, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, etc.) it would be a welcome change to see a good one.
