It’s Official – New Cobra Commander is LAME

A couple months ago, we showed you a picture of one of the toys for Cobra Commander, that revealed a really lame new look for him.  Since it was one of those cartoonish kids toys, where features are exaggerated, we weren’t absolutely certain how bad he looked (though he did look awful).  Well now thanks to LatinoReview.com, here is a new toy, that isn’t supposed to be cartoony or “cute” looking.

Here it is, and now the new Cobra Commander is officially LAME.

I’ve included the new toy, the kiddy toy, and how awesome Cobra Commander used to look.

    I am a by-product of the GI JOE generation. I watched it religiously as a child. I collected and actually still own a massive amount of the toys sprung from the early 80's cartoon. I mean what an awesome awesome cartoon it was. I always loved it more than Transformers. By the time I got into comic books I sort of grew out of GI JOE, but I later learned the comics were pure awesome sauce compared to the cartoon.

    I really don't like it when movie makers take liberties like this. The original design was awesome. This new one is lame as hell. He looks more like some smack pusher up the street than a super villain.

    In the comics, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow were a big part of the storyline, which was awesome. In the cartoon, they were barely in it.

    Not smacked… Smacked repeatedly, and harrrrrrd.,! I have officially broken my addiction to merchandising. Who wants to go on vacation with me? With all the money I will be saving I can take two or three friends.

    if hollywood really thinks that this was a good idea to:

    1. cast the (3rd rock from the sun) Kid as Cobra Commander. He needs to stick to "10 things i hate about you".
    2. Make him look like a cancer paitient/burn victim with a breathing apparatus. Who in the hell would mess with the iconic design of C.C.?
    3. And once again hollywood has past up the opportunity to use the EPIC voice of the real Cobra Commander/Starscream. I do realize the man who played the voice of these characters has passed away, but come on man! is there no way to use old voice recordings or at least try to sound like hime? instead, he sounded like a Darth Vader wannabe. and why did his voice get "even deeper" when he applied his COOL plastic mask?

    im so done with movies ruining my childhood cartoons/comics…

    ya guys cut me deep…

    The movie was a lot of fun, and Cobra Commander was my favorite part.

    The times are changing, except that a movie has to change, it cant just be the cartoon you watched as a kid.

    While I still maintain my position on Cobra Commander looking lame, I actually had fun watching the movie. Check out out video review on the home page.
