Tonight marks the end of five years of the new re-imagined Battlestar Galactica.  A show that at its best was a Sci-Fi show that raised many important issues relating to war, religion, and the definition of humanity and its purpose in the grand scheme of the universe.  At its worse (which was not too often), it was a space soap opera. 

The one thing that can’t be denied, is the overall impact the show has had on the Sci-Fi community and the overall TV audience as a whole.  It has won Emmys, a Peabody Award, and was recently part of a special UN discussion panel.  The show brought sci-fi viewers and non sci- fi viewers alike.

Even though they have announced the change from the Sci-Fi Channel to the lame SyFy Channel to take place this summer, I declare tonight with the end of BSG, the last night of the Sci-Fi Channel.

What can we expect from the finale?

I have not been a huge fan of season 4.5 (4.0 was fantastic), so far it didn’t seem to have a consistency that was there in the previous season.  To me, “No Exit”, and “Deadlock” were two of the worst episodes that BSG has had.

So with muted expectations, I’m hoping for these things to happen or be answered:

- Resolve Starbuck’s storyline, define what she is, and how she resurrected

- Resolve Daniel (the boxed cylon) storyline, is it tied to Starbuck’s existence?

- A huge kick ass battle between Galactica and the Cylon Colony (this better be there at least)

- What is Hera’s significance and how is she going to help the Human/Cylon relationship?

- Where will the Final Five Cylons end up?

- Are Apollo and Starbuck going to get back together? (Actually I don’t really care, but I know people who do)

- What is the smoke monster….opps wrong show!
