According to SlashFilm, there has been much discussion over whether or not Terminator Salvation will recieve a R or PG-13 rating. At a panel at Wondercon today, McG discussed that a topless scene involving Moon Bloodgood was causing Warner Bros some nervousness and wanted it to be cut. He said that he isn’t being pressured to deliver a PG-13 movie, but that he was not totally against it.
For me, I’d rather see them deliver an R-Rated movie just like the first two movies have been. I know that by creating a PG-13 movie, they will be able to market more to the younger crowd to sell tickets. But I remember seeing T2 in the theatre, when I was barely in high school, so it’s not like kids aren’t going to see it.
I’m guessing that the studio wouldn’t even mind an R rated Terminator, as long as the topless scene is cut. They probably think parents will be ok with under 17 kids seeing the movie, if it’s just violence and f-bombs, but as soon as they hear about some boobies, they won’t be so open.
Do you guys think Terminator Salvation should be R or PG-13? Topless scene, yeah or nay? I can guess what the male audience will be voting on the latter.

I would love to see both released in the first week and let the audience decide. Or they should release the R cut three weeks in and market it as the Terminator Directors cut in theaters. I too saw T2 at the start of my High School years. Save PG-13 for the WB, CW, or whatever they want to call it these days. Terminator is about war and survival not prom and abstinence.
