What the frak has happened to Battlestar Galactica?  From the completely awesome first 10 episodes of season 4, to the utterly ridiculous crap that has followed.

Last night episode “Deadlock” has hit the ultimate apex of stupidity.  BSG’s story has now become Days of Our Lives or 90210.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Let’s recap:

Ellen comes back. She and Saul have sex, while Saul’s pregnant cylon lover, Caprica Six is elsewhere.

Ellen becomes jealous because Saul has impregnated another cylon, saying it’s like having sex with their children.

Anders is in a “coma”

Ellen has a showdown with Caprica Six, about the unborn baby and Saul.  Ellen reveals that she had sex with Saul behind Caprica Six’s back.

Caprica Six becomes distraught over leaving Galactica/Saul having sex with Ellen that she loses her and Saul’s child.

Saul runs to Adama to cry about his lost child, because Bill has lost a son as well.

Does this sound like a typical soap opera storyline that’s been on every soap opera tv show?

Is this an episode of Battlestar Galactica or freaking Grey’s Anatomy?

How did this once great sci fi show turn into this?

What did you guys think? Am I completely off base? I haven’t heard anyone say anything good about this episode and how this season has been going.

At this point, I’m glad it’s going off the air, if this is the quality of the show now.
