I’m willing to bet BIG – LOST 16 Episodes To Get Back To The Island

So – Dennis and I have a bet. I say it’s going to take sixteen full episodes for the Oceanic six to get back to the Island. Dennis says not -Ahem – may I remind you Dennis that you also predicted that they would be back by the end of THIS weeks episode? Hmmmmmm?
If I win – which is looking more and more likely – he has to buy me all seven seasons of Buffy and has two days to watch them all and write me up a series synopsis. On my desk promptly at 8:15 AM Monday morning (insert prim little nod here please).

What do you guys think?

LOST is all about the infinite stalling… Dennis doesn’t have a prayer. (I hope I can con somebody into taking some side action on that bet!)

PS: If you were really sinister, you’d make him watch all of ANGEL, too.

  2. Fuelbot Says:

Dennis is gonna kick your ass. Damon Lindelof stated in interviews before this season started that fans would kill them if it took the Oceanic Six an entire season to get back. Lost WAS about infinite stalling before they got the green-light to cap it at six seasons. And considering how much has happened in these first four episodes, they’re certainly not stalling anymore.

  3. Dennis Says:

After the stated when they were going to end the series, they don’t have to stall anymore.

Like Fuelbot says, it WAS about stalling, but now that they said they are ending in May 2010, they have to started answering questions, and so far this season has been.

  4. Roth Says:

Mmmmhmmm – it’s true that there is a cap on the seasons- but that still doesn’t meant that the theme of this season will not be getting back to the Island/getting securely back into one time period.

I mean it took four years to get off – doesn’t it make some sense that it would necessarily take longer than a few episodes to get back to an Island that some people never find or spend a lifetime trying to find?

Also if you think about it – once they are back on the Island – then what? I believe the “then what” will be the theme of the final season of lost – starting with their arrival.

And as for questions being answered – well – answer me this: What is the smoke monster?

Dennis – get ready to choke on the slayer.

  5. Wendy Says:

I think it’s going to be before the very end of this season… After all, as was stated above, the producers now have a set end date, and many questions to answer… I say Dennis wins this one!

  6. Dennis Says:

The smoke monster is my most hated thing about Lost, I wish they never had created it and wish they never brought it back.

However I will win this bet, and force you to watch the awful Heroes, so your ears will be destroyed by the horrible dialogue.

Thanks for the support Fuelbot and Wendy!

  7. Fuelbot Says:

The smoke monster, what the island is, and where the island is was ALWAYS going to be stuff that got answered at the very end. If you say this show isn’t answering questions you haven’t been paying attention.

I know, for a fact, that it will not take the entire season. And that it might not even take another five episodes.

Oh Roth, get ready to drown on the miserable crud that is Heroes.

  8. Roth Says:

C’mon Twitter – is there no one out there willing to stand up and fight on the side of good!

It’s not that their not answering questions – it’s just that I think it makes sense and is in a way a good opportunity to explore questions to drag out the return trip.

You get to look at how time works on the Island (they they will all die if they don’t sort it out soon) and you get to look at where the Island exists in space when they are returning.

You also get more of the relationships Ben, Mr Widmor, Desmond and Penny – will Ben kill Penny? We still don’t know why Said was assassinating ppl and WHO he was assassinating…

  9. Fuelbot Says:

Roth > I get what you’re saying but this makes it so much more exciting. If they get back to the island midway through the season, where does it go from there? What could the season finale possibly entail? And what does that hold for season six?

And I AM standing up for the side of good. LOST! :D

  10. Dennis Says:

I WIN!! Roth get ready to watch some Heroes! Prepare for horrible dialogue and lame plots and characters.
